Cat Litter And Your Cats Health

Bookmark and Share
When you are looking for cat litter, you have to consider the litter and your cat's health. Every cat litter acts a different way when you pour it and when the cat uses it. There are some must needed considerations to think about when you are looking for cat litter.

The dust from some cat litters may affect your cat's health. The dust can cause illnesses in a cat. One problem is asthma. The dust can trigger an asthma condition in a cat. Clumping cat litter that is used for kittens can affect a kittens health if they were to try to eat there own urine or feces, which is rare but not uncommon. The litter that they eat can clump in the stomachs and cause serious health issues.

Scented cat litter can irritate a cat's sense of smell. Another problem with scented cat litter is that if the cat does not like the scent, they will avoid the cat box altogether. The other thing you need to think about when buying cat litter is if it is biodegradable or natural.

You need to think about your cat before buying cat litter. Look for the best cat litter that is not going to cause your cat health problems.

How interesting. My kitten likes to watch me clean her litter box, and then she tries to climb in and use it before I am done. lol.

My Bella does that. I will be scooping the box and he is in there trying to help me. Then as soon as I have finsihed, he lays down as to say get out of here mom.

He also goes in and cleans up after the other cats if they do cover. Bella gets in there and covers everything.

Great points. It's always important to do a little research before giving anything to your pet. Like you said, you never know how litter might affect your cat's health.

Those are all very important considerations! A long time ago we tried scented and clumping. Mom hated the scented and we did not like the clumping.
